          ... great Lord Shiva would certainly let in British Hindus if it was up to him, leaving the official a bit bewildered and even more resolute in his decision not to let him in! Anyway from the outside, it was a beautiful temple with intricate carvings towering high depicting the Hindu epic stories in all their colourful drama.

          ... and a mixed salad followed by apple crumble, now that was delicious! I also had my first red skinned banana in Kovalam and it was really tasty.Just like a normal banana but thicker and firmer. I was on top form when I asked a waiter in one cafe if the ice was made with water!

          We decided that we prefer Varkala to Kovalam so after 3 nights here we are headed back up to Varkala to spend our first Valentines day as husband and wife relaxing round a pool somewhere ! ...

          ... because if not don't worry?". The wonderful Tibetan waiter looked astonished but agreed! The rice arrived but with no where to go, without hesitation mum snatched it from him and dumped it all onto another dish to the waiter's entertainment! 5 minutes later the plates are licked clean and we exchange sheepish looks between ourselves before bursting into fits of giggles! Num num num!!

          Trivandum had proved to be a fine place to explore and we did it in style using the tuk tuks, here there was no pointless haggling and meters were turned on straight away.
