      We have been in Kovalam since 23rd November. Kovalam is a touristy resort and has a great choice of restaurants, shops and more shops ! Its 15km from the airport – Trivandrum and also same distance from the rail station.

      You can get alcohol in bars , beer is served in teapots or mugs if the bar isn't licensed in case the Police call by and catch them serving alcohol.

      There is a long promenade along the beach, lined with amazing places to eat , of an evening ...

      ... a fantastic three hours, just us, a slightly egocentric chef, and some very sharp knives. The first time we had cooked in over two months and it felt brilliant. From Chapatis to Barracuda Molee we felt quite proud of our six creations, and even happier when we sat down to eat the feast.       ... luxurious houseboats steaming passed us. It was really relaxing floating down some of the quieter canals among the wildlife and villagers going about their business, so relaxing that I dozed off! 4 hours was probably an hour too long though and we were glad when we pulled up at the end, there’s no loo on the little boats!
