... so I decided to skip. The next day we went to Shirakawago. It is a very tiny village that is Unesco world heritage and oh boy do I recommend it! It is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. The mountain backdrop, water streams everywhere and the beautiful slanted roof wooden houses make this a must see if you come to Japan. Hordes of tourists of course but not as much as to perturb the enjoyment of this place. It was a bit tiring ...

... we took pictures of our C.C lemons. Our pictures could be in ads they were that good.

Then, we drove back and were met with lunch. We sat at a big table and there were plates and plates and plates. I thought we were in Beauty and the Beast! Then, we got soba and fried rice and I got 2 helpings of soba. Miles got 3! We were all stuffed and then they gave us dessert. It was jello with fruits and I couldn't eat all of it.

... men carrying bamboo ladders to do tricks on, there was a large drumming corps which with fanfare announced the beginning of the parade, and plenty of men in samurai armor clinking about as they walked. Very colorful and very cool to see. We decided to head to the center of town, where the parade would end, so we could actually see it from the front as we passed by.
