Wasnt bad before I left, but I now seem to be able to circumcise a gnat. Useful skill ...

It was pricey, as was everything in the area, but I've seriously not had such a good Hawaiian pizza in a long time. We then walked around a little more and window-shopped before deciding to head back. We just narrowly made the last train back home, and I think I've had a very successful and fruitful day off.

... taxis will turn heir meters off and try bargaining. Of course not all the Chinese, or should I say Beijingers, treat us foreign types with such abject dismissal. There are times when strangers on a bus, shop or subway will stop and smile and utter the now familiar Ni Hao, and dealing with the language barrier is at times frustrating, but thank god for my iPhone and google translate app, my savior for communicating and trying to cross the language and cultural divide. ...
