Arriving in Ao Nang on Dec 28th meant we had 3 nights to try out the nightlife before determining where we would be spending New Year. At this stage, all the advertising was centred around Dec 28th which fell on the night of a half moon. In Thailand they celebrate both full and half moon nights by having massive parties/raves on the beach and it's …

Also, in Vietnam, we went to the Cu Chi tunnels and learnt about the civil war and the American involvement in it. We went to the War Remnants Museum and saw the effects of Agent Orange, a horrific toxic chemical that wiped out miles of forest and jungle in Vietnam. Hundreds of thousands of people's lives were ruined by it, and even today ...

... so many roads literally run! Well this town has been slightly saved as we did go to an amazing 'curry festival' this really was my idea of an afternoon from heaven as we got to sample lots of different dishes and watch a cookery competition of a master chef standard. Nick enjoyed the tasting bit too. The best bit was you didn't even have to pay to get in. Oh forgot to mention I bought a new phone - samsung galaxy s5 and is so much cheaper than the UK as ...
