We stayed at Antonia Apartments, which is part of Antonia Hotel, both owned by Lekteris. I cannot speak more highly of this place. Lekteris was waiting for us as we got off the ferry and drove us the 10km to the hotel in Fira. The apartment was beautiful and spotlessly clean. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful . To be honest, they made our holiday and if I could give them more than 5 stars, I would!

Located in central Thira, close to bus station and chair lift restaurants etc. No breakfast provided but many places serve excellent breakfast nearby. Free coffee available at any time and free pick up fom ferry anytime. Rooms have large balcony, good bed, safe and fridge. Very clean and comfortable with friendly staff.

      Sunset over Santorini

Day 126: The ferry ride to Santorini was amazing once we were sailing past the island, we could see all of the towns sitting on the top of the cliffs and right up against the edge. The cliffs were pretty much vertical and the roads from the ferry ports up to the towns were crazy, very steep and zig zagging all the way up.

... and then with our friends Ian & Judith, their daughter Laura and Adam’s dad Siong strolled through the many laneways where gift and souvenir shops, tavernas, and hotels abound. At 3:30pm we made our way to the cable car station to catch this very efficient type of transport from the top of Santorini to the bottom, where the Old Port still provides an access point for smaller ships and ferries. The sunset cruise was great and exceeded ...

Our last days of Turkey/our first taste of Greece!

... So we hoped for the best and put our trust in goodness knows what and made for Marmaris, the closest town with a ferry to Greece!!! One night in Marmaris was enough for me, it was very much in parts like a flash version of the Auckland waterfront and we intended it only as a stop over. So early the next morning after an hour on the fast ferry we got ourselves our first taste of Greece!! Welcome to Rhodes Island (Rodos in Greek)! ...
