We stayed at Antonia Apartments, which is part of Antonia Hotel, both owned by Lekteris. I cannot speak more highly of this place. Lekteris was waiting for us as we got off the ferry and drove us the 10km to the hotel in Fira. The apartment was beautiful and spotlessly clean. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful . To be honest, they made our holiday and if I could give them more than 5 stars, I would!

Located in central Thira, close to bus station and chair lift restaurants etc. No breakfast provided but many places serve excellent breakfast nearby. Free coffee available at any time and free pick up fom ferry anytime. Rooms have large balcony, good bed, safe and fridge. Very clean and comfortable with friendly staff.

      Sunset over Santorini

Day 126: The ferry ride to Santorini was amazing once we were sailing past the island, we could see all of the towns sitting on the top of the cliffs and right up against the edge. The cliffs were pretty much vertical and the roads from the ferry ports up to the towns were crazy, very steep and zig zagging all the way up.

... delayed, after about an hour of this they made an announcement saying that NO trains were going to King’s Cross (the station in London where we needed to go to get to the airport) until the next day. We had a bit of a panic attack and told one of the men working at the station our dilemma. He was really nice about helping us and the train station paid for a taxi to get us to the airport. Now, trains take about an hour to get to London and cars take about ...

... is the 'black beach' of Santorini - named for its black sand which I found out was bloody hot when I attempted to run from the path to the water. The water was refreshing, but I even with my towel doubled over I couldn't stand lying on the sand, and decided to save the 5 euros I would have to pay for a chair for the supermarket. As I walked back to my original abode (which I would be staying in that night), I thought about how Perissa reminded me of our quieter ...
