    ... from fried whole shrimp and kythariki to grilled sardines and dolmades. The seafood in Crete is notoriously good, but everything else was just as delicious!! We ate as much as we could of the food and were stuffed, only to find dessert coming later. Many restaurants serve karpouzi, or watermelon, after a meal.     ... yogurt, bread, jam, coffee and eggs - we didn't have all of it. We made our way to Agios Fortia which is a pretty beach with some remote private coves if you can be bothered with the trek. We were bothered, which included wading in the sea neck deep in water holding the bags high above our heads, but at least we were alone and largely undisturbed apart from the odd nosey bugger who obviously thought "where the hell are they going" and so swam out to see (sea). ...

    ... attractive and as an evening harbour town is lovely.
