... sellers were doing a roaring trade. You could also buy a cloak to cover yourself from the ticket seller. One lady in particular was hilarious. She had on a dress, just a drawstring wasted thing, with full sleeves, and came to about mid-thigh. I didn't think she looked too bad, but the door police were having none of it... and she kept pulling the dress down to try and reach the two finger limit. At one stage there she actually bent her back down so she was ...

    Relaxing at Lake Como

... about where on the lake was a good place to stay.

We all boarded a ferry. Stopped at St Lucia airfield, a lovely private grass airstrip, for fuel and to have a new set of brushes fitted to the propellor pitch control, by Luigi, the aero maintenance engineer on site. The job turned into a bigger one as the pitch control motor had actually died, so he arranged spare parts and we are fitting up together, but with afternoon weather building, this ...

Awake at 4 again! On the train and travelling at 300km per hour! Wow! See attached video ! It was a wonderful trip, even the last part where we spent more time in tunnels than outside looking at the scenery! On arrival at Firenze Santa Maria Novella we were met by a brass band playing - that was so kind of them, we were quite touched! Found the hotel reasonably quickly ...

    Milan -day 2

Well we got our first glimpse of the city of Milano today. We set off, light of baggage, as we intended to explore a little and get our bearings. Out came the iPhone gps with walking instructions to the Milan Cathedral. The walk was short, about 30 minutes every step of which was flat, not a gradient to be seen. A great city for bicycles if you can avoid the cobbled streets lest you own a kidney belt and have a large padded seat ...
