      Dolomites to Paris

A travel blog entry by jtate on Jan 21, 2015

... to arrive some other lady couldn't carry her tray and suitcase so I carried her tray for her to her table. Again she was thankful. I'm hoping after the few good deeds for the day my karma has leveled out. We caught the flight to Paris and checked into our hotel, the Mercure. It was very fancy. We knew it was going to be expensive and toyed with the idea of going back to the airport for dinner but decided out of convenience to have it at the hotel restaurant. I had a cheese ...

      The Dolomites Day 2

A travel blog entry by jtate on Jan 20, 2015

Today we woke up sore and stiff from the previous day's workout. We had breakfast then geared up for the day of snow sports. Today we made sure to stick to blue runs so no more incidents like that of yesterday's. We did a few runs near the hotel before plotting a course to the top of the mountain - Tofana. There were some easy runs outside the hotel that were fun and allowed Ash to get back into the swing of things. She was doing pretty good and having fun! We decided, ...

A travel blog entry by jtate on Jan 18, 2015

Today we left the island of Venice and boarded a bus to the Dolomites. After napping on and off we came into view of the huge mountains. They were big and rocky with snow caps. I was beginning to get very excited for the snow!! The two hour bus ride came to an end and we arrived in the snowy town of Cortina. I had to find the ski office to pick up our ski passes before the next bus arrived to take use to our ...

... the big monuments in the centre of the city I ventured a little bit further to the Tridente area. This was a slice of paradise and I enjoyed all it had to offer including: - the Spanish steps and at the base the Barcaccia fountain designed by Bernini's father. This was still running on the ancient Roman aqueducts - Piazza Del Popolo which houses a huge Egyptian Oblisk stolen by the Romans - it's one of the last 20 surviving in the world - Church of Santa Maria del ...
