... We got to our lovely room around one. Everyone else from the group is in the nicer hotel, but we like ours just fine. We did a walkabout through San Marco square with our tour guide Audrey, and she bought us our first gelato. We were then free to roam. Brandi wanted to shop as she had packed no shorts and only one skirt which she didn't like. We spent an hour in H & M and I nearly melted. I was exhausted. We made ...

... major landmarks when we could find them. The bridge was really pretty with a few shops built along it. As is customary in Venice we bought Venetian masks as we had a masquerade party that night. We decided to have an early night and were sleeping by
9.30pm!!

So much organic stuff and it was pretty big by Italian standards! We bought so much food!!!! We are going to be making breakfasts. After shopping we went and had dinner which was not great but it was very cheap and then we went and had a 3 flavoured gelato each. Cannot wait to explore ...

How not to do Venice.

... amidst canals, we slowed down to take in all of the details of the city, stopping for a little window shopping here and there. Half-way through, we decided to stop off at a bistro to take it all in. I ordered a cheese pizza and a caipirinha. Not a traditional Italian drink but since I first discovered this drink in NYC, I never miss an opportunity to order it when I see it on a menu. It ...
