... should only take me 20 minutes if I actually knew the way. So, I hopped on a Vaporetto (water bus) and took a ride all the way up Grand Canal to a stop nearby my place, and miracle of miracles I was able to find my way home in just a few minutes. Maybe I will get the hang of this? (Don't be cocky Krista, this is how you die). Supper tonight was cheese and meat from a local grocer, with a nice bottle of white wine. ... like 2800 passengers on board. We've been told by the officers that there is 1250 crew from 77 different countries on board. We headed off to bed to distant lightening flashes but not the promised rain. We'll see what the weather is in the morning before determining tomorrow. If it's fine we'll go into Venice after a gym workout and breakfast, with a view to being back by 3pm. Since getting to Italy our trip has been a whirlwind of overnight boat rides, shuffling around metro stations, and city hopping in general. The hotel clearly tried to cater to folks of all nationalities, especially Americans, and so they had things like scrambled eggs and sausages. The sausage was much like a miniature hot dog, but I guess it met the definition of breakfast sausage.
