... We spent 2 days touring the center, you get to see the launch pads (from a distance), pieces of the international space station being built and prepared for their journey into space and lots of history and information on sapce flight. They also have lots of old rockets and a Shuttle that you can climb on and check out. We walked on the run way that Neil Armstong walked on and met a real Astronaut, cool! His name was Bob Springer. The centre is ...

Back in the USA

... we have to hear about being a Christian in the states. It has been nice to be around heavily christian cultures in Brazil and Colombia and not be inundated with all of the all of the other stuff. The culture here is very happy being christian and not telling you all about it. I have also found that even the Europeans are the same way.  (I hope you are smart enough to know I am being general and that not all people are this way) It is a great way to be.

Dirty arrival at Cocoa Beach!!

... Augustine, where my friends of many years currently live at. We spent some time catching up the news on whats going on with deaf Florida, and made plans to go to a Poker game this coming weekend on Saturday where a bunch of local deafies gets together and play poker for fun. We're gonna go up and catch up for old time sakes and introduce Travis to the local deaf scene. Later on I hope to catch up with Heather located on the ...

Anyway, the ship is sailing through somewhat choppy waters and the weaving of the boat is making me dizzy and ***********centrate. No nausea yet though. Woo-hoo!

Rooms with a View

I'm sitting here on my balcony overlooking the ocean on the main drag in Cocoa Beach. Although not one of the most scenic locations in the world there is much more happening here and the beach is a short block away which makes shore walks easy and frequent. Thanks to Alex I have relocated from my former abode. The deal breaker was when I returned from Jupiter last weekend to find I had no toilet paper. When I called the desk they informed me they were out ...

A rather windy lady called Fay

... are now staying at Orbit, by the lakes RV park! Think the worst is over now, about 5pm. See - only wind and water. PS The latest is that this tropical storm will develop into a hurricane as it goes out over the Atlantic to the east of us then back inland again to screw up the north of Florida - there goes the power again! Check out some extra pics as well as weather "grabs" that helped confuse us... http://picasaweb.google.com/on.travels/ FayAtOrbitRVPark

shuttle take-off and local car rental experience..

... rental fact:

The youth hotel was purposing deals to rent a car, like “arranged and better” deal, let’s see… I just ask at the desk then they give me the car rental manager on the phone, we arrange a deal for 70 dollars with all tax and insurance included (a little bit more than my usual agency, what ever this one brings me the car until the hotel).

At night around 12 the dude supposed to bring me the car and the contract ask ...

It's one small step for mankind...................

Went to the Kennedy Space Centre today. It was fantastic!! Neil was like a kid in a sweet shop. We saw the lauch pads of the Space shuttles, an actual space shuttle that's housed in a big hanger, and went on a simulator that pretends to fire you into outer space. We also saw parts of the International Space Station being built, and an alligator in one of the rivers surrounding the Space Centre. It was a full day's entertainment and we left happy but tired.

... the bus we were told that if the guide or driver told us to get on the bus fast, we should do so with enthusiasm as there was an alligator just off-shore. Next stop was the space station construction facility where thanks to a nice glass viewing area allowed us to get quite close to the next parts to go up to the International Space Station including the transport pods. The small museum had some interesting ...

Orlando and the beginning of the trip

I began this trip in Orlando at a Youth Gang Conference for my job. It was a four day conference about gangs around the United States and their influences on teenagers. It was very interesting yet my mind was on China. The night of the last day of the conference Denise flew in and I picked her up from the airport. The Orlando airport seems to be owned by Disney because there are tons of Disney Employees walking around.
