Sorry to leave you hanging in the last post, but I had to change locations on the map! Okay, so we are officially arrived in Cuzco and I´m nervous that no one is going to be there to pick us up.
I was wrong! We were greeted by a sweet woman who immediately complimented my Spanish (huh?) and loaded us up in to our car. We spoke the whole way there and she was very nice and talked to us about our plans for the trip.
Along the way, I was able to take in some first impressions of ...
Today we were supposed to go on an even bigger tour than the city tour we went on yesterday, but we decided that since we still weren´t feeling so hot, we just wante to take a day to realx and walk around Cuzco and acclamitize oursleves before another big excursion.
We missed breakfast at the hotel, so we helped ourselves to the TLC bars that mom got for us to bring (they´ve been a life saver so far, mom! Thank you!) We then set out for Plaza de Armas, the main square, where we heard a...
This morning, Mom woke me up with a phone call at 8:45 in the morning. Crazy lady (just kidding, love you Mom). Jared was already awake and asked me to call down to have our breakfast brought up to the room. I refused and told him that he needed to buck up and use his Spanish. AFter a bit of protesting, he finally picked up the phone and ordered breakfast. I was quite impressed. While we were waiting for breakfast, we talked about our Amazon dilemma. Jared suggested that we just talk to Alici...
Cusco, Cusco, Peru acordes This morning was another early one. We loaded our stuff back into the boat after getting some assistance from my gentleman Mario because I almost fell off the side of the mountain with the mud and my heavy backpack unbalancing my footsteps. The boat ride was only about 15 minutes to Atalaya where we unpacked our things, took a few last pictures, and then loaded all of our stuff into the van that was there waiting for us.
The van ride wasn´t as bad as I thought it would be. It was about...
Today was a really chill day. We had breakfast at the hotel and set out for a day of souviner shopping and blog updating. We spent most of our day at this great cafe called Cappucino Cafe. If you´re in Cuzco, check it out! We love it! We´re also trying to work out our details for the last leg of our trip in Lima, so we´ll let you know when that all gets squared away.
We had an awesome dinner at a restaurant recommended to us by Jose and thoroughly enjoyed our pizzas and banana split de...
SO I arrived to Cusco, on another scary flight on a smaller plane. My ride was waiting outside the airport after you get past the 100 taxi cab drivers that want your money. I offered the girl one last try to team up. She decided to be difficult again, so I left her and told her to enjoy her trip, but I was done ****ing around with her. SO I checked in my hotel, they were very nice. I got me big bed instead of the two beds I got for me and the girl. After dropping my luggage and drinking some ...
Cusco, Peru beaffiliatedCusco was once the capital of the mighty Inca Empire, which stretched almost the full length of the Western part of South America, from Ecuador right down to Chile. The Andes Mountain formed its backbone and at its heart was the city of Cusco. Similar to Quito, the city is surrounded by mountains and in the valley lays the city. It's not a large modern city like Lima or Quito, so it was our first real taster of small town South America. It's a very beautiful city, which most of the centre ret...
Cusco, Peru marie_mc... and the ones that didn´t have it were mad. I was trying to simultaniously take it away and keep the bag out of reach of the others. At one point, I had 4 boys literaly climbing up me to get to it (I was holding it above my head). There were a couple mothers dropping their kids off, so they stayed to watch the mayhem unfold.

Finally, one of the mothers started bopping kids and they settled down ...

Cusco, Peru hallouwe... consisted of a number of terraces leading up to the temple of the sun which had huge pink rocks on one wall with carvings of the andean cross. It was called the temple of the sun because it catches the morning sunrise along the valley and is supposed to glow pink. After about an hour of walking around we headed back to the hotel where we had a really nice dinner in the hotel restauraunt before getting to be nice and early.
