Reto & I left Bad Ragaz early in the morning. Together with our visitors from Chicago we took the train to Zurich. They went to the airport and we moved on via Berne, Spiez, Visp to Zermatt. Since we have a Eurail pass and we had a few days to play with, we decided to take one of our travel days and detour to see the real Matterhorn (that's right kids the one at Disneyland is fake) so after three scenic trains through Switzerland countryside we arrived in Zermatt, home to the Matterhorn. ... Oli outgunned me in a Chicken Wing and Nacho eating comp, not once but twice, and we had a burger night with Hannah the instructor. The rest of the time, the boys in the family were hanging around in the apartment in our jocks enjoying the central heating and dining in. The promised snow never arrived, but it didn't bother us in the slightest and we left Zermatt after 2 weeks with nothing but fond memories and a couple of weeks of good skiing under our belt.
... awesome. The hostel I was staying at was part of the Hostels International chain (like the one I stayed at in St Moritz). These guys know how to do a breakfast! They even had Bircher museli!
