Home Away From Home
"Our battered suitcases were piled on the sidewalk again;
we had longer ways to go. But no matter, the road is life." – Jack Kerouac
Tomorrow Dan and I begin our month long journey! The last day of school was Friday, except there were no students last week so Jenn and I didn't have to work except to punch in and leave. It’s been an interesting 6 months of teaching. There were periods in the beginning where I hated it and thought I couldn’t ...
Chinese New Year + Our Motorbike Accident
Chinese New Year has come and gone. It was like Christmas all over again. Lights, lanterns, decorations (including some large inflatable red and yellow rabbits which I still have no idea what they have to do with Chinese New Year – It is year of the Dragon), and food…..everywhere. At night Nakhon Sawan was lit up red. Driving down the streets in the Chinese district, if you looked up all you saw were hundreds of red lanterns. It was beautiful. One of ...
A Thai-Style Holiday
December has been an insanely busy month. First we had my birthday, then Dan's, then Christmas! Both of our birthdays were a lot of fun. We celebrated with all of our friends here, with dinner then drinks after. For my birthday we went to a little pizza shop run by a man straight from Italy. He makes his own dough and sauce, and uses amazing cheese. A little pricey (a trend in Thailand for pizza) but totally worth it. Afterwards we went to another restaurant/bar for drinks. In Thailand ...

Dan and I have a usual routine of making tea and oatmeal for breakfast. If I have time I take a shower, if not, no big deal because I will just smell at the end of the day anyways from the 3lbs of sweat I will loose throughout the day. Until two days ago, we only had cold water for showers. This was actually ideal, being that ...
A Random Blog About The Last Three Weeks Or So...
I can't even remember where my last blog left off. I think we were in Kanchanaburi still. We left Kanchanaburi Friday afternoon to head to Bangkok. We thought it would be a good idea to get towards a more central location incase a job offer came up and we needed to travel quickly. Our bus took 5 hours to get there (which is interesting because it only took 2 hours on the way up), and of course broke down (which it also did on the way up). So we had to put double the amount of ...
