... the park. Strange to think that when we were tacking we were heading straight for Venice. On the Adriatic Sea side of the park there are cliffs jutting straight up from the sea. On Mana Island an old fort or castle sits atop the cliff side. Don't know the history but I've heard this whole Area was ruled by Venice at one time. After a goodnight's sleep Kerst feels much better and we have a hot breakfast before boarding the bus at 8.30. We head to Krka National Park which is stunning. Krka is a river and lake area with abundant bird life, scenic waterfalls and lush forests. We walk for an hour and take in the beautiful,scenery, the waterfalls are amazing! Despite the fact that Marijana told us the rental agency would pick up the car themselves in the morning if we wanted, we decided to try to save an extra day of rental charges so we drove out to the Zadar airport and dropped the car off. The campground here is within sight of Trogir, right on the water’s edge with a nice gravel beach. It is still on the expensive side…. about $34 per night… I guess that is expected for waterfront.
