    ... me on my travels, so that it's not so lonely. We have the money we need from our property and a wonderful excuse of a year long honeymoon to do it. I can't imagine anything more perfect.

    I think for today that is all. I actually came on here to write about something entirely different, but I guess that's just the way life goes sometimes. We turn up with our expectations and end up with something entirely ...

    ... and some are quite quirky. There is quite a religious influence throughout the castle as the third Marquis of Bute was very religious and had very vast sums of money at his disposal.

    The Castle Library was quite extensive. The Marquis, spoken several languages including Latin, Hebrew, Aramaic. He was very well read and his children were also well educated.

    ... itinerary, however the Trans-Mongolian tickets book up fast so I need to have that bit in the bag. Most of my vaccinations are up to date after yearly travel clinic visits but I do need to get a yellow fever jab. Is yellow fever a bad thing? Who knows? Apparently having the certificate is A Good Thing though, so it'll get done. And then there's the paperwork. The Russians appear to have taken exception to the new British rule ...

    ... its culture and wildlife, but travelling is not easy and regulations and pricing are real drawbacks. I met some others who hated it. Nevertheless I will definitely be back there.


    As to disappointments well Cambodia was…. I expected more. Angkor Wat and Siem Reap were amongst the highlights, but without this experience and that of Preach Vihear, I would have been terribly disappointed. South Africa is difficult to gauge as I did not really see ...
