Our last day on Santorini and we awoke to another glorious day so it was hard to leave. After another delicious breakfast served to us by our gracious hosts we thought we'd better have one last walk to take in the views and walk off a little of our breakfast. Impossible to walk it all off. It was tortilla and some kind of pastry as well as grapes and cheese accompanied by the freshly squeezed orange juice and black brewed coffee. We had to be out of our room by ...

        Day 32
With a 5.00pm ferry to catch decided to grab a bus into Chora, the main town of Naxos and spend a few hours exploring. With confusion over bus tickets and a long wait, ended up with only an hour or two to see the Appllo Temple, a quick look around the Venetian inspired laneways surrounding the castle, lunch and back to the hotel for a swim. Then onto the ferry for our next destination, ...

... gorgeous vistas, beaches, and more great Greek cuisine. We rented a car for one day but could easily have filled another day with a 4x4. I was surprised by the arid landscape beyond the fertile valley of the interior, yet this is an island with more green space than others in the Cyclades. I suppose I associate islands (Vancouver Island, Ireland) with verdure but such is not the case in Greece.

... water to swim in, although I imagine to be very busy during the summer months. I didn't make it to the winery, as I had had enough wine at this time. Asked for a white wine with lemonade and asked if I wanted a lemon squeezed into the wine!?! There was a wee boat which took people over to the beach from the port in Naoussa for 5euro. I wasn't overly impressed with Naoussa and probably could have done with one night spent here, however it was an experience. And on to Ios!!!!! ...

... We are not quite on the beach but just one street back. The streets are a bit of a maze and a local told us to be careful driving as the road rules were recently changed, with lots of one way streets added, she said even us locals aren't sure what we are doing so watch out, comforting! We hired quad bikes here, and drove from 1 side of the island to the other. . twice. it was again a little scary on the roads but loads of fun. some of the locals drive pretty manically and ...
