... cake by special license, so that everyone can have an opportunity to try it. In any case, Elza asked me if I wanted fruit or chocolate - I went for fruit since it was still kind of breakfast time in my world, so she chose an apple poppy seed cake. Don't think poppy seed muffin like we have at home - these were dense layers of ground poppy seed, which had a very earthy, almost coffee flavor. My aunt and uncle had built a large house for their family, who had since moved out with families of their own, so we had a huge place to ourselves, including our own bedrooms and bathrooms which was a bonus. Aranka and her husband Gyuszi now lived next door in a smaller home ...

... whether or not the relatively new clutch on the relatively new car was going to take much more abuse. Oh, and Janos is diabetic, and carries his insulin with him everywhere, and had only one food stop from 9 am to 9 pm. Thank God the man doesn't drink. Remind me to share with you (complete with the hand gestures) the time when we were only half way back to Budapest at dusk and we hit the soft shoulder on the narrow secondary road and there was that moment of ...
