Pushing the Travel Bug out of its Comfort Zone
... br> 3) Is it best to plan your own trip or go through a travel agent?
I've been told that agents put huge booking fees on and I could see why, but I've done tourism courses and know how to plan itineraries...plus I know what I want to do and what I want to see. So it's just a matter of time and some more planning and looking through my Lonely Planet guides and the booklets I got from the travel agents.

TeBall's final Log - Star Date 2011
... So what is left to say?
Great: people ( generosity, kindness and fun), places (diverse, gorgeous and interesting), food (tasty, strange and wonderful)
Good: weather (mostly warm and dry), some transport ( big tick to high speed trains!)
Not so good: traffic jams ( peage routes in France), some trains (bit dirty), some maps and street signs (or lack thereof).
G, P and T thanks the world and all the good people for a unforgetable time.

It was considerably warmer in this region and it was a welcome break from the freezing cold conditions we were used to on the south island. We made a brief stop in Hamilton and we arrived at our wilderness lodge in time for lunch, which made ...
Raglan and Kawhia
Today we travelled to Kawhia and Raglan. I have never been over this side of the Waikato coastline, although Rob has followed the rally, which has special stages over here, for several years. We first went to Kawhia, which is a very small town on the estuary. The "no dogs" signs were out in force on the waterfront, but we popped into the local museum where we asked the lady working there for a place to take dogs and she said that we could take them ...
