... this part of the walk, A little white chapel where we sat in the cool shade and talked with a few other travellers whom we had seen on the path ahead of us. Other than that we met no one. When we got to town we were surprised that this town was quite different to Fira. In the main streets they had flat marble tiles instead of rocks cemented in and it was a flat mall type path. The accommodation is apparently a little more up market ...

From there we were taken by bus up the zig-zag road, climbing up the very steep escarpment to the township of Anthinos and then into the countryside to visit Mount Profitis Ilias (Mountain of Elijah). ... a nice perk. We boarded the tender and it was about a five minute ride to the coast of The town of Fira. Along the ride we saw there were two other ships in the bay; the Costa Mediterranea and the Oceana Nautica. Someone said that the Costa ship is the sister ship of the Concordia which sank off the coast of Italy. Once on shore, we got in line for the cable car up to the town. With three ships visiting today, it was a little lined up. ...

Early morning for us since we had a tour planned for 8:30 a.m. After a quick breakfast, we met our tour guide & were escorted onto a "tender" which is a small boat that takes you from the ship to the shore (Santorini doesn't have a dock/pier). We boarded an a/c bus (thank God because it was warm) & toured the entire island from one side to the other & top to bottom. The views were incredible & we couldn't believe ...
