Fantastic Boutique Property
We were looking for a reasonable and quick getaway for the weekend and found the Anglers on line on TripAdvisor. We checked out the Anglers website and found out that they were giving introductory prices as they were still under partial renovation/construction. The Anglers is a new hotel (two buidlings are historic and oh, so, so, so charming) and the other two are in the process of construction and nearly complete. The pool was open, but the kitchen/restaurant was a few weeks from completed. This all did not matter one bit.....the rooms were simply SPECTACULAR...we had a room, with terrace overlooking the pool..complete with balcony. Rooms were detailed with plasmas, inroom speakers (and speaker/volume control in bathroom!!), oh so so so comfy bed, large bathroom, wonderful comfy couch and side chairs, beautiful mirrors, and flooring. It is obvious that special care and attention was paid to creating a special room environment.
The staff was wonderful and were full of good ideas regarding dining and places to go for drinks and desert (try Dolce Vita a few blocks from hotel). We stayed by the pool and enjoyed the clubby/loungy music while enjoying our tan.
If I were to give the hotel any shortcomings...it would be due to the lack of restaurant/lobby lounge and finished landscaping/grounds.....All these will be in place by mid fall according to staff...so we are excited to come back and enjoy the hotel when it is fully operational. Hotel compensated extremely well and delivered croissants/coffee in morning (which were scrumptious) and offered us drinks at pool. Mini bar is adequate and with so many restaurants nearby....we didn't miss not having restaurant at hotel...(although one night it would have been great to order late night snacks if available). We were very very pleasantly surprised to come accross such a jewel on S. beach....and look forward to our next visit this winter....
Outstanding hotel with Exquisite service
I was in search of a boutique hotel to stay in as a surprise for my boyfriends birthday and I found The Angler's Hotel by logging into boutique hotels website but I called the property directly and spoke to Monte for over 20 minutes asking him to describe the hotel and it's ammenities. He was absolutely delightful, patient and more than happy to answer my questions, he sold me on the hotel and promised it was a gem and that both my boyfriend and I would be delighted and indeed we were. It is impeccably clean, the decor is exquisite, the attention to detail exceeds that of any Ritz we have stayed in and none of this would be possible without the staff. Starting with Monte's outstanding customer service which continued with James, who was aware of everything that we could possibly need even before we could ask! Marie and Bryan completed this incredible team with their smiles and follow through. It is indeed a GEM, a MUST see and stay! The details include but are not limited to a welcome note with chocolates, cards with your name and the hotel number and address during your stay, a miniature map of the area, bathrobes laying on what is possibly the most delicious bed, a mini bar and basket with any amenity you could dream of, it is something that you can not go without ever having experienced. This hotel and it's staff gets a perfect score from us, and we are extremely picky and not easy to please. My boyfriend and I fell madly in love with this jewel and thanks to them my gift was unforgettable. THANK YOU GUYS!!!! and I guarantee you we will make time to return at least for a weekend.
Nice little touches at The Anglers's...
Upon arrival at The Angler's, we were greeted curbside, BY NAME, which is always nice. We were escorted to our poolside room, which was very nice and brand new with contemporary decor (42" plasma TV, comfy sofa, microwave, Ipod docking station, DVD player, etc.). On our bed was a little "welcome" gift, which consisted of an Angler's Resort t-shirt for our son (when I made the reservation, I mentioned that we were coming down for just 1 night and that it would be our first night away from our 3 and a half month old baby), a baseball cap with the hotel logo, and a travel kit with very high-end, sample size toiletries. Great surprise, and very thoughtful. The only thing I wish was that the room had a bathtub, but that was a very minor thing for a 1 night stay. The pool and surrounding chairs are NOT as pictured on the website, but we went to the beach on both days, so it barely mattered to us. Not sure how they'll accomodate the 100 or so guests when they fully open and are at capacity, as the pool only holds 20 people, and there are maybe 10 lounge chairs. About the beach, the property is 2 blocks from the beach, and you can bill your lounge chairs and umbrellas to your room, and they will give you a voucher to present at the beach. They also send you on your way with a canvas Angler's tote bag filled with 2 towels (we could've used 4, as they were not that large), 2 bottles of water, and 2 single use packages of sunscreen. The bag and towels are on loan, so you need to return them at the end of each day. We were surprised that there was turndown service, with chocolates on the bed, etc. The next morning, fresh croissants, coffee, tea and juice were delivered to our room, and it was all complimentary. All in all, it was the little touches that we will remember fondly, and we look forward to visiting again when they fully open in the Fall.
Anglers is a real gem. The rooms are very spacious, comfy and so tastefully appointed. The staff was excellent as all our needs were taken care of...reservations, suggestions of sightseeing, tours, etc....we felt completely pampered. The hotel is still being developed, but we stayed in the first of four buildings to be completed. It is a historic building that was completely refurbished to its original luster. Still missing is the restaurant and finished lobby (although the hotel's makeshift lobby could pass for any other top luxury lobby...and works very well). Staff told me that restaurant will be open early fall (soon) as well as entire facility opened in several weeks. Hotel provided coffee and croissants in morning...which is all I need to get my day on South Beach started.
This hotel is a real gem and stands out among other S. Beach hotels that skimp on room decor, and service. We enjoyed the individualized attention and again the furnishings were all very high end (and my fiance really loved the plasmas and ipod docking station and speaker sound). We are absolutely going to come back when hotel is finished as we want to rent one of their many duplex suites that have priveate HOT TUBs either outside of the unit or in the case of the upper duplexes...on the roof above the bedroom.
In short...I have been to several S. Beach hotels (for business, while in college for spring break and for everyother reason in between) and the Anglers stands out as a true Boutique luxury hotel unlike any other property I have experienced.
My husband and five colleagues were in town on official government business. They needed a hotel on short notice and they needed 6 rooms. I called the Anglers and their front desk associate (Mark) was the nicest, most helpful man. He continually follwed up without pressuring and really strove to make us happy, as did the manager.
My husband and his co-workers loved the hotel. It is partially under construction as their Grand Opening is in October of 2007, but the building they were booked in was complete, brand new, clean, and beautiful. The plasma tv's and IPOD docking stations in each room were a hit and the furnishings are so tasteful. The bar isn't open yet but the hotel had great recommendations that can be trusted as the owner is a respected nightclub promoter.
I cannot express how happy this hotel and it's staff have made me. They go above and beyond to accomodate their guests. I see nothing but success for this beautiful hotel. KUDOS!
Stay at the Anglers. Don't bother with any other places.
What a wonderful place to stay.close to everything in SOBE .You feel like your at home .Relaxing atmosphereand beautiful surroundings. The staff is very positive and upbeat with the smile with every request. So put your feet up and they will handle the rest.
Fine settimana del mio compleanno
Che posto meraviglioso per alloggiare. Vicino a tutto quanto a South Beach. Sembra di stare a casa propria. Atmosfera rilassante e dintorni bellissimi. Il personale è molto positivo e allegro con un sorriso sempre pronto. Mettetevi comodi ché penseranno a tutto loro.
Hands down FAVORITE S.Beach Hotel...
The staff made us feel so welcome, I felt like I was home with friends and family. The hotel is brand spanking new and the rooms and public areas are the epitomy of classic S. Beach chic ++++.....lush woods, 5 speakers in each room (including large 42" plasmas and separate volume control in each bathroom-my husband gushed about that). The bedding was scrumptious as our King size bed was nestled between two niches which made me feel like I was back in our home (we have a simmilar configuration). Everthing from the luxurious couches, coffee table and marble countertops to bamboo floor and balcony overlooking the pool added to the feel of the hotel. I even loved the several art-deco and other large coffee table books that were in our room...it seemed that EVERYTHING was so well thought out....even the luscious choclates at turndown presented in a cute sash....My husband loved his amenity gift (a brown "Anglers" t-shirt) and I took home the box that it came in (I loved the presentation). For breakfast, the hotel included room service of coffee and fresh croissants and pastries...ohhhh what a treat!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everthing from the presentation to the the delicious preserves were scruptious...I was a Queen in my robe, drinking coffee and relaxing on couch with newspapper...ahhhh...life is good.
Staff was beyond wonderful. Marsol at the front desk was so helpful to us as this was one of first times in S. Beach in years. The entire staff treated us like family and were truly professional....I truly felt happy at the end of the day to come back to my hotel room. Note that the hotel is still under construction and the 3 othe buildings (we were staying in the main historical 3 story building)...and the restaurant is still under construction. The pool is open and is quite delightful. We are soooo excited to come back in early winter and experience this real gem all over again. Congratulations to the Anglers...you hooked us in....
So Hip, So Hot, So Home!
We ADORE this place! The Angler's boasts an amazingly attentive and intuitive staff; they completely rolled out the red carpet for my fiance and I during our stay. Trust their nightlife and restaurant recommendations- they will not steer you wrong! The hotel itself is so chic and cool, yet extremely warm and inviting. Posh orchids and coffee table books in your guest suite of celebrities with great lighting and new furnishings everywhere! Simply gorgeous rooms with dreamy beds and all the amenties to make you feel like you are right at home! We especially enjoyed the flat panel TV and the personal I-pod docking station. You can even listen to your favorite show in the shower with the surround system they have going on in the suites. The Angler's is right off of Washington, putting it only 1.5 blocks form the beach. You are in walking distance from all the hottest attractions South Beach has to offer!
Being in the hospitality business myself, I have stayed in MANY hotels, but none finer or more welcoming than The Angler's! Please do not miss out on this Miami Beach retreat; you will love your stay!

Travel Blogs from Miami Beach
... That afternoon we got back on the coach and were taken around all the different neighbourhoods in the city, one of the highlights was Little Havanna. We vistied a cigar factory and learned about why Miami has such a huge Cuban population - in short because of Fidel Castro. That evening we hit the strip again with a girl we met in our dorm and went to a bar called the Clevlander, a bar I frequented a lot with a couple of mates in 2008!! We bumped into ...
... some more shopping... Then took some bikes out and rode along the beach to the bay and marina. Tonight we are going to Little Havana-an area known for its cuban influence. We are going to try cuban cuisine for the first time! Day 3 Today we went to the beach and soaked up some sun. On the way back we walked Ocean Dr and looked at all the really old cars they had on display. Every man and his dog was out today ...
... view which of course we couldn't see. We were starving and headed straight to the restaurant which closed at 11:00. We ordered an order of sweet potato fries to share and we each got a dessert. I got Creme Brule with mango and pineapple salsa and key lime cookies. Erin had pumpkin bread french toast. It was just enough without being too much right before bed. I went to bed about midnight and Erin was still up when I went to sleep.
... accent barrier while trying to have a conversation. Plus is was bloody hot! Once in South Beach - one of the main beaches on Miami Beach - Flix and myself along with the guy from Brazil (who we think is called Fernando) went for a walk along the beach and got some dinner. Flix is couch surfing so he had to meet his host after he finished work so we had some time to kill - just sat and relaxed ...

The cars here are oversized and glint expensively under the evening streetlights. South Beach is warm and quiet, which is to be expected for a Monday night. I´m not jetlagged yet but I´m starving so I head out for a place that looks half busy and settle on some place opposite a jazz bar. Since this is a journey of firsts I order a fish taco and sip on a beer as I watch ...
