... Hollywood, Beverley Hills and Mulholland Drive. LA is a vast metropolis with no natural centre but it was great to drive through the iconic places we see on TV. On our last day we headed off to Universal Studios which Bella and Freddie were so excited about. We all especially loved the studio tour and Simpsons ride. Bella took some great pictures. Next stop Santa Cruz on the Californian Central coast which will be our base for the next ...

Bed at 11 pm was agreed upon and we had no trouble falling asleep! We awakened at 7:15, fixed coffee and a smoothie before walking for two miles on a hilly terrain. ... to the Ice-Age Show which included the appearance of a very life-like Smilodon that scared some of the kids half to death. We also went on the excavator tour where we got to see some of the excavation and learned a lot more from the tour guide. We went through the atrium garden and, when I asked for the names of some of the beautiful trees, the young lady there got very excited as she claimed we were the first people in two years to ask. I then became the famous Biology teacher ...

... purchased and we wrapped them around our necks to stay warm. We were in line for over an hour, sat another 30-45 minutes waiting for the taping to start and then the show concluded at around 9:30. We were told to expect to be there for about another hour. So, with the multi takes and script changes (they will often try a line different ways or improvise the line and then see which looks better in editing) I guess we did pretty good.
Home to bed. What a crazy, wonderful day!
