... The venue was a Christian school yard with permanent stage. concrete basketball court and sandy mini football field, surrounded by four-storey classroom blocks.
The singer Dama, was World famous in Madagascar. A solo singer with mouth organ and guitar. Very pleasant songs. Later to be joined by Melky, a female vocalist who stirred the audience.
The volume was far more acceptable than our experience at WOMAD in New Plymouth.
