It had to happen. You cant come to England for 17 games and not lose one to the rain. Jumping in the cars after breakfast, the convoy heads off for the 70 minute trip to Eastnor with Stirling I-don't-believe-in-GPS Hamman in the lead car. Our GPS tells us we should arrive at 12:08. It is situated on a loop in the River Avon, surrounded by it to the north, east and south. An interesting feature of the very picturesque cricket ground was a large Turkish oak situated about 10 meters inside …

Gill offers to hang around for the drying cycle so I head off to have a day away from the rest of the touring party. Its only a 10 minute walk to the train station and 5 pounds gets me a return ticket to Coventry.

After the obligatory morning coffee, …

Today we head off in convoy to Droitwich Spa. Droitwich Spa (aka Droitwich) is a town in northern Worcestershire, on the River Salwarpe. The town is situated on massive deposits of salt. In Roman times Droitwich was known as Salinae and the origins of salt extraction in the area go back to prehistoric times. The natural Droitwich brine contains 2 …
