Today has been amazing. The best day of the trip so far. Today we visited some amazing and perspective changing places. As an American I have not appreciated ancient history. For me I am in awe when I visit Mt. Vernon. I think its old, but that all changed today when I visited the ancient city of Ephesus. It was absolutely breathtaking. We first …

Up waaaayy to early to catch the ferry to Rhodes. It's huge. Semi's driving in and pulling trailers off. About 8 of them and most of them went back 2 or 3 times. Sitting at the back of the ferry watching Kos and Turkey disappear. Very bumpy. It's almost like we can feel the engine vibrations.

Lindos village is a well preserved 14th century buildings and mansions, known as captains houses, situated on ...

The hardest part about travelling for me has been leaving my family and friends at home. So may experiences that you have travelling make you go ' I wish ??? was here to see this they would love it'. Photos and words never do justice to some of the wonderful things you see travelling and there have been so many times I have longed for people to be there and experience it. In particular my wonderful mum. Me and my mum are two peas in a pod ...

... used to grow in abundance around the island and at its peak had a population of over 22,000 supporting the divers and merchants, now the population is less than 3,000. You can still buy local sponges, the best coming from below 80 meters, and they are so much more impressive than what I have seen of felt before, amazingly elastic, and incredibly strong and apparently lasting up to a decade of regular use. Within 30 minutes of eventually finding my hotel in amongst ...
