          Friday 30th October

On the ship until 2.30 when we left by tender for the short service to Mykonos, one of Greece's most popular tourist islands. Here we wandered for an hour with Cindy & Mike before grabbing a well deserved beer in a cafe overlooking the famous windmills, formerly used to grind the island’s grain. The houses are all white washed pretty regularly & the streets, ...

... stand on a hill overlooking the area. Most windmills face towards the North where the island's climate sources its strongest winds over the largest part of the year. There are currently 16 windmills on Mykonos of which seven are positioned on the famous landmark hill in Chora. ... it is a lot more personal.

My new job role includes making breakfast, light lunch and general cleaning and tidying – something I do aboard Cpt. Morgan anyway. The biggest bonus though is sailing the Cyclades. Consistent and stronger winds means fantastic sailing and tons more experience. The islands are famous for being the most stunning in Greece with well known images of beautiful ...

... to waste anymore time - THE BEACH AND WATER WERE CALLING MY NAME !)
Once I got myself sorted I headed out into Mykonos Town and headed for the water through winding cobble stone streets, small white buildings with blue and red doors, mopeds whizzing by, kids running down the street with soccer balls - everything I thought it would be, just perfect. I got down to the water and was taking in the view when I look to my right and see two people that look familiar, I ...

Travel days - I have less and less patience with using up good vacation time with getting from Point A to Point B but they are necessary. We took a whole day to get from Istanbul to Mykonos by way of a plane, a bus and a ferry. The plane ride was perfect and we arrived in Athens with our luggage, waited an hour for the bus and arrived in the very small port of Rafina half an hour later. That just left us with 5 hours to wait with nothing to see or do. ...
