Mosaics and Lions in Delos

... are still many columns as well as some interesting mosaics. Even with what remains, there is enough to get a good idea of what the island would have been like in its heyday. The best know sculptures on the island are a row of lions.

We anchored within the Bay of Delos and returned in the afternoon for lunch aboard. After we finished exploring the island, we boarded the yacht and returned to Mykonos for the evening. We went to shore and found a ...

A few days in Mykonos

... beautiful place with the village full of white-washed buildings scattered around a maze of little streets and alley ways. Just at it seemed that Santorini was made for couples, Mykonos was make for singles and the party life. This is one place that I want to return to again.

Cruising and coughing

... orange juice, taking exercise classes, bundling up between museums and spending a small fortune on face creams, treatments and make up. But, as I said, I have absolutely loved this experience. So, no complaints.

Today we are in Mykonos. And it finally looks like the movies. Not to insinuate Corfu and Athens weren't beautiful -- they just weren't the bleached white houses hanging from rocky cliffs. Mykonos is quite exactly that. I haven't gone into town yet ...

My Big Fat Greek Visit !

... We've finally arrived on the land of Greek souvlaki! No more imports! This is the 'real deal'!

We decided not to take a tour today, choosing to take our own walking tour! As we walked away from the Port Tender at the marina, it seemed like we were continually walking in a Greek flag as the the colour of choice around the town of Mykonos was white and blue. It seemed, everyone had cube shaped white houses ...

Mykonos

... the setting sun. As we were eating, this ultra cool yacht pulled in and dropped the hook for the night.

We spent the next morning crawling throught the fantastis back alleys and maze-like walkways of the old port town. We checked out the shops, cafes, and little churches hidden in the secluded district. Every balcony had beautiful boughanvillas flowing down the walls and spring flowers everywhere. It was different than the cliff ...

Curse of Mykonos

... Of course, this got me thinking about foreign residence and I think I could do it for a year or two. In a super awesome place. But I doubt I could make a move permenantly because I would miss all of you too much. A million times a day I find myself thinking "****, I wish (insert your name here) could be sharing this moment with me..." Brevity is not my friend. More to come... !!!, Anne ps. Stacy C. - thinking about you. Hope things went off without a hitch (pun intended, of course...)

Cruising the Greek Isles

... to flush our toilet paper..... Our first docking was in the afternoon at Mykanos. It's a gorgeous town - all the buildings are white with lots of blue roofs and shutters. It looks just like a postcard. Had a bit of a wander through town, past all the restaurants along the waters edge & up the hill. Great views over the town and our boat just out to sea. We didn't have a whole lot of time here (as meals were provided on the boat decided to head back ...

Coupla dim sims and a potida cake

... groceries with us) and the motorbike was unable to make it back up the hill. Only a couple of bad things about Mykonos: 1. Too many overweight American tourists checking out the boutiques and whining loudly about what they need to buy for Chad and Mary Sue back home. 2. Its not possible to buy a couple of dim sims and a potato cake anywhere on the Island. A couple of good things: 1. Very nice island, good beaches, great scenery. 2. No stinky trees.

Cruising the Greek Islands

How on Earth did I get to be so lucky?

My family and I went on a cruise of the Greek Islands. We ate a lot, got sea sick once, soaked up the sun, and absorbed the classically beautiful white and blue colours on the islands. There weren't very much ship activities that my sister and I were interested in but Allyson and I did win a bingo game! Mykonos was by far our favorite island because of its beauty.
