Our last beautiful Greek Island
Siros is the capitol of the Cyclade Islands. Greece has about 1000 islands divided up into
3 sections. We’ve been visiting the
Cyclade portion. Only 300 of the total
islands are inhabited.
Every island has its own personality. Siros is a bustling commercial and

Syrros Island
... museum depicting a time when the Cycladas islands were the center of Grecian island culture. We loved it. The port is the center of activity and the city itself sprawls up the steep mountains overlooking the sea. There were myriads of marble streets and alleys to explore, cafes on nearly every corner, and cats, cats, cats for Anna. One of the highlights for me was the museum of technology. We did not see any Kri-Kri goats but we did see many "chasmophytes" or plants that live in chasms. There's a new word for you. We didn't hike the entire Gorge, but we did spend several ...
Palaiochora
... around one hair-pin turn after another. It was really fun. Eventually we descended the western side of the mountains and stopped in a small village for some snacks. And just in time, the clouds quickly gathered and a sudden cloud burst poured down on us just as we ducked into a little cafe. It was more like someome's outside kitchen than a true cafe. Rustic doesn't even begin to describe it. But it was dry and after explaining in sign language ...
