... as a series of 29 hairpin bends transported us to a peak of 2,700 metres over the Winter Alpine Chilean skiing area of the mid Andes. The views were just enough to offset our disappointment while we considered the blasť attitude of locals who are all too familiar with this wonderful landscape and treat this simply as a bus ride. ... but it was now pitch black and we had read that the area around the station was very dangerous and not to wander around it at night....our hostel was somewhere close to the bus station - oh ohhhhhh. ... we kept watching as more and more and MORE people kept coming in for the tour. We ended up with a tour of about 100 people. The tour was interesting but it was over an hour long and when we got to the tasting room, the man was swamped selling cases of wine and nothing was prepared for the tasting. We were also anxious to visit other wineries before closing time so we ended up just using our vouchers to buy a bottle and moving on to the next one.
