      Dolomites to Paris

... fries(fancy style) and Ash had spaghetti bolognaise. The dishes were expensive, mine costing about $30 and Ash's costing $25 but what shocked us even more was the €6 each bottle of coke we had with it. That's $18 for two bottle of coke! And no the bottles weren't gold! And no there was no alcohol in the drink either. Massive rip off! Luckily the food was good otherwise I'd have been really spewing! Our last night in Europe. The Dolomites Day 2

A travel blog entry by jtate on Jan 20, 2015

Today we woke up sore and stiff from the previous day's workout. We had breakfast then geared up for the day of snow sports. She swerved with a myriad of what I'm sure were Italian swearwords and went off the piste into the deep snow on the side. Although I felt bad, I was ...

      Venice to the Dolomites

A travel blog entry by jtate on Jan 18, 2015

... I did a big lap of the town, it was -4deg, and had no luck finding the office. After asking for directions a few times and following them in a round about way to no avail then asking for more directions leading me back to the bus stop where ash was waiting I was starting to get a bit frustrated! Eventually we noticed a big Ski Pass sign staring us right in the face across the road from the bus station... If only I ...

      When in Rome

... come alive with these ancient structures - they are living, breathing and are now integrated into our modern world. It really is magic. The Catholic Church's presence in this city was another slice of magic. As you know I have no religious ties but I could not keep away from the beautiful churches which were around every bend. It was like walking into a free museum every 5mins...and then there was the Vatican. My fellow Roman tourists were also very friendly. ...
