Smuggler's Notch and all that
... to Stowe via a mountain peak called Smugglers Notch. This is named after the exploits of the prohibitionists bringing booze down from Canada. This was a strange place in the clouds with eerie sounds, it was all closed in with the fog of the clouds with Granite boulders all around the very narrow and steep winding road. Intro to Vermont Beauty
We woke up to sunshine and Fall colors ... in Vermont. I'm in Vermont! Somehow I never thought I would be here ... so far in east in the US. Kirk's family is so cool ... I walked up the stairs this AM (from our basement bedroom) and Kirk's older brother, Kim was standing there. He said, "wow." I think for both of us it was a total blast from the past (1977). He looks the same but older, as do I. His wife, Wanda, is a great lady ... very much ...
BEN & JERRY'S ICE CREAM HEADQUARTERS TOUR
... on cold, cloudy day in the mountains of Vermont, we were shocked to see all 3 parking lots packed with tourists (mostly seniors, all on fall vacations in the colorful mountains). Ice cream has no age boundaries, that was very evident!
Cherry Garcia is still the number one flavor of Ben & Jerry's in the USA. And they even have a "flavor graveyard" for the old flavors that are no longer made.
