... tenderloin for Heather followed by an ice cream and hot cherry dessert. This was washed down with their Chilean house wine and a couple of cocktails and we had change out of 30.00.

So after one full day we got a fairly good feel for the city which, were we here in summer, would be much brightened up with outdoor dining and plenty of flowers that were just starting to peak through as it is only the start of spring.

Next, we hit up just about every vintage/second hand shop in the city, as it was so unbelievably cheap. Clothes are bought by the kilo at a set price depending on where you go. After loading our finds back in the car, we walked on to a local park in the city centre which featured gorgeous alcoves and a WW2 monument. Feeling the need for a pick-me-up, we stopped at a coffee/gelato shop on the side of the park. ...

At this point, that's all I have to report. More pictures to follow once I get a german cell phone sorted out. Having T-mobile and Lebara sim cards sent here so I'll see which gets the best coverage. It's 15:45 here now, and already the sun is starting to go down, so I'm going to get out and enjoy it while I can!

Another RE train ride took us to Chorin - the site of a ruined monastery which you can walk along a clearly marked trail from the station through some woods to get to. Again, very pretty location where, during the summer, you can attend concerts. Now tell me that a monastery isn't a great place for that :)

HELLO SUNSHINE.

Since I left Oslo, I made the long, but what I thought worth while, trip to Kopparberg in Sweden, the home of the most amazing cider! My first thoughts were to see if one could take a tour of the brewery.
