Elias did not take well to the relative heat and humidity (which are not bad at all) and kept trying to climb into the air conditioners, but we were eventually able to make our way through the visa line, claim our bags, navigate a hall of hyperactive moneychangers, and grab a taxi. Note to future visitors – first go to the desk where you purchase visas on arrival, then get in the visa line.

I was drawn mainly to the unwavering beauty of Colorado. California is a gorgeous place, but I was ready for a different kind of scenery. Looking out my dorm room window and seeing the Rocky Mountains is absolute perfection.
