Happy Mothers Day from Larkspur ! Just waiting around for Thai my Rideshare down to Orange County, Los Angeles California. However, I wanted to wish you a very happy 2nd Mother's Day mumsy. ... didn't stop until we got to Ukiah. Had lunch at the Ukiah Brewing Company. It was 3:00 PM - we calculated that we would be home by 6:00 PM. Outside of Vallejo we hit a traffic jam and we rolled ever more slowly towards home. Got home around 6:00 parked the Jeep and trailer and didn't touch it for 2 days - 8,324 road miles, 1,200 + nautical miles, 450 air miles - the trailer was subsequently moved to storage in preparation for our next big adventure.
... They were packing up and were about to take off when we met them - go figure - we chatted for a while and then said our goodbyes. So far we had really lucked out on the weather - so far. We spent the rest of the afternoon at Safeway and exploring the Exit Glacier. Had a wonderful dinner at Ray's Waterfront - an appropriate way to end to our stay in Seward - in the morning we would begin our 4 day, 900 mile journey to Haines. ...
It isn't a long story, just one day. We hit the road at 7:45am and drove into the raising sun for about and hour until we reached the Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area. It was visitors' appreciation day and the day's events were just getting started and the area where we were going to play was still closed until the grand opening. We joined Greg's buddies and he introduced me around.
