... was an understatement and after a bit of an arguement with the owner I got a refund out of him for what I had already paid online for the room and went off to find somewhere else. That took about an hour but I eventually found somewhere.

Next morning (well afternoon by the time I'd woken up) I went for a walk around Patong, I'd walked through most of it the previous night looking for a hostel so I'd seen the sleazy side of ...
Patong, Phuket, Thailand bazzrosetravels... for US citizens so I didn't have to wait too long to get my new passport. One of the things no one told me when I was at the office the first time to start the process is that I would have to get my Thai visa transferred over to the new passport. I was given a map when I got my new passport that made it look like the Thai embassy was right around the corner. Since I thought I was just walking a few blocks, I left all my bags and wallet with Greg thinking I'd ...
patong, Thailand carrienica05... through this halo of impenetrable fog and perhaps achieve something close to clarity in the end. Three ... Two ... One ... HERE WE GO ... Bus ride to Phuket. I grimace as I recall it to mind. We booked it on February fourteenth - happy belated Valentine's Day to all you soppy romantics out there! - in Kanchanaburi, from our hotel; perhaps an impetuous decision and done for reasons of ease - we had no idea what lunacy lay in wait just out ...
Phuket, Thailand kasey_kid... the Karon View to have pictures with the Sea Hawk (100THB), our Princess was very thrilled! However not so for the other 2 Princesses, they were very afraid! It was around lunch time when we requested Mr Charlee to bring us to lunch, he brought us to Tang-Kae Restaurant where all the live seafoods were! The food was marverllously delicious! We ordered 9 dishes and drinks and it cost us only 1650THB! The tiger prawns and the fish were so fresh and ...
Phuket, Thailand sc_myinitial... first just to see if i would like it. I did so i got it done properly on the last night before we left! Its a design at the bottom of my back i love it. Oh my god it was so painful tho don't think i could ever go through that ever again! I nearly broke Toms hand as he had kindly offered it to me to squeeze during it!! I kept jumping when he was touching my skin with the needle after a break - was conviced i was going to end ...
Phuket, Thailand tomandfran... make-up squares, cough medicine, pens for Mei-Mei's classmates, a tray of durian for Dad, a gazillion Oral B children's toothbrushes which are $1 each ($4 each in Sydney), sports socks for the kids and half a trolley of Thai junk food (mmmmy favourite). We bypass McDonalds (I really want a hot taro pie) and go and eat in the food court. Rob has the local noodles, I have a plate of Pad Thai and 2 skewers of fish balls. All for less than THB100! Then we ...
Patong, Thailand tric1003... I covered 90 kilometres. Was quite easy to sleep after seeing the beaches of Karon and Patong, over to Phuket center and down to Rawai. Amazing. Needless to say it was quite easy to sleep. Sorry I didn't call or write everybody I was supposed to. I really appreciate Sundays now!
Phuket, Thailand taishan... at an alarming rate. These new characters in my long running play were not pleased to see us. Even the dogs that were being taken on their mandatory morning walk seemed to eye us with open contempt. In the end, we didn't so much leave as flee the scene and the accusing glares that followed our every move. Were we threatening to these people in some way? Perhaps. People feel endangered for some truly pathetic reasons in this age that we ...
Phuket, Thailand nealinthailand... what was swimming all around us! Before we new it the horn form the boat bellowed and summoned us back to the boat. Those of us who had paid for VIP tickets got to have an extra go at snorkeling off the shores of monkey beach. This was a sectioned off area around the reef that encompasses the petite beach located at the bottom of a cliff face. As the name suggests, it has a family of playful monkeys begging for food. To our disappointment, we pulled up outside the ...
Patong, Thailand weebleandbob... Michael including all the surfing and diving in different conditions and countries. They say that one of the most calming things to do when you're stressed is to watch fish swimming. Worked for me! When we were finally running out of air, we surfaced. A moment of extreme panic though when we couldn't spot our boat. We'd swam further than the first dive and were round a corner and very close to the rocky shore of an island. Thoughts crept in of the couple that ...
