We had a western breakfast at the Japanese hotel. They should stick to Japanese food. We started the day visiting a traditional Japanese woodworking factory and had a demonstration of how different types of wood are glued together and then cut paper thin with what must be an extraordinarily sharp plane. Once we get back to Gotemba traffic is lighter and we easily find our way back from there. Too bad we never got to see the pink moss fields, we had seen a lot of pictures with the moss in full bloom and Mount Fuji in the background and were really looking forward to seeing it in real life. We get ...

... is a Japanese one up in he mountain. There is a natural hot spring bath on the roof and the water is piping hot. Far too hot to sit for long. We had a Japanese meal again but this time it was lots of fish and not just vegetarian like the temple we stayed in. It all came in loads of different dishes and seemed never ending. The Japanese have 3 springs a day when they come here. I guess it's their way of unwinding before the Tokyo ...
