W naszym rankingu: number one... numero uno ;))

... puste!

A przed nami Zadar, miasto piekne, czyste, zadbane niesamowicie - w kazdym razie STAROWKA. Wyczuwa sie tu wloskie wplywy, ale to nic dziwnego: miasto bylo podlegle Wenecji dlugie lata.
Chociaz z tym numero uno roznie: Krzysia /to ja..to ja / - Zadar. Inni? A to... Kotor, a to.... Dubrownik, a to... laba w Prapratno! Wszystko piekne, po prostu :)

Torre Pedente di Pisa

... in various wars and that's what actually saved the campanile (I can use big words, too). When construction picked up again the soil had compacted some and the bright engineers decided to build the upper floors with one side taller than the other to compensate for the leaning. Smart idea I guess because it hasn't collapsed yet. The tower was closed until recently so modern day engineers could stabilize it.

A few days of heat, sun and lots of beach time

Great little place to relax, with plenty of beaches (topless, nude or otherwise), hiking, boating and more. Heavily touristed by northern Europeans, with lots and lots of skin on the beaches and boats, and a very interesting medieval town made for wandering tourists.

The beautiful Adriatic coast

... corners of the globe. So far Croatia is a great place to be, the only thing i'm wondering is if there are any Germans left in their country as every second car is from Germany. At the moment we are back in Birmingham due to a member of family being ill (well thats our excuse, nothing to do with the final of The Apprentice or the Euro finals ............come on Croatia!!!) We will be re-united with Banksy on Saturday

... fun and more flexible if you organise it yourself. Re-exerting our independence, the next day we caught a ferry to Ugljan with the plan to hire bikes and swim. The Rough Guide to Croatia states that coming off the ferry turn left and walk to the island's main town, Preko. Reaching Preko, a 10 minute walk along the coast, and a sleepy place with only one open bar, we accidentally stumbled across the information office (where ...

Croatia Part 1

... but clearly suffering from the effects of mass tourism. Sandy beaches were littered with tampons and fag ends while secluded coves were packed with Europe's elite showing off their speedboats. Krk was less touristy and the narrow winding back streets of Baska were particularly pleasant and aided our recovery from the festival. We took a day trip to Vela Luka where the snorkeling was amazing. I returned from the water with a pocket full of shells from the sea floor ...

Baking in Zadar

We arrived in Zadar after travelling through many hills and rivers, all very pretty to look at through the coach window. In Zadar many of the buildings are terracotta coloured and in the old town the streets were all cobbled, making it a lovely place to wander round. Unfortunatley the heat was very extreme and we moved from shade to shade, unable to stand in the sun for too long. We had our first taste of croatian ice cream, which was very creamy and ...

Plitvice and Zadar

... the sheer beauty.. it felt otherwordly .. and i was dissapointed because the photos I took do not do these amazing lakes justice. After the complete walk around the lakes and the bus back, I eventually caught the coach onto Zadar, arriving late at night. I found the bus stop and a japanese couple were waiting for the same bus to the hostel somewhere out of town. The next day I traveled into town, unsure if i would stay another day ...
