Key Largo, Florida, United States rjdempIt's Monday and during Breakfast at the Hideout we decide to take it easy and do some shallow diving today, so it's off to the dive boat where we dove the French Reef, Christmas Tree Reef and the Bentwood wreck. What else can be said except that it was another good day of diving.

Buster ...
Key Largo, Florida, United States rjdempWait a minute, why the hell does everyone keep asking about Buster. I keep telling you there is no Buster on the trip; never was, and we certainly didn't pick him up along the way so no more more asking about Buster okay?

I had decided I wouldn't dive today since I wasn't exactly sure what kind of shape I'd be in after last ...
Key Largo, Florida, United States rjdemp... to get wet. Although it was sunny, the wind was blowing and the seas were a little rough, so the captain suggested we do a shallow wreck dive inside the reef instead of jumping right in with some of the deeper dives. At the time we were a little disappointed, we were "Jersey" divers after all just how rough could it be; we're practically in the Caribbean. But no matter, he's the Captain and we go ...

Patty joins and we grab lunch at the Raw Bar (it's a ritual - Mango Bango). We drop everyone off at the plane and Ted and I continue on to the RV. Rob Troke Addendum: It's been brought to my attention that I left out a key event from Key Largo. Day One in NJ Ted showed me his anointed RV trip ...
Key Largo, Florida, United States tednims... mile bridge is just as it sounds and it is quite an amazing thing to see and just after it we found a quiet beach were we stopped and enjoyed the clear water and glorious sunshine. We also made use of the local pools and fishing industry to relax and enjoy some great food. Now, at this point we could go into great detail about the interactions we have had with some of the locals here. Being aware that this is a ...
Key Largo, Florida, United States clairechris2008... Key' comes from the Spanish 'Cayo' which is a low lying island. Where there is a reasonable area of land it is populated with hotels, motels, stores, restaurants, cafes and fishing / boating / diving establishments. I have been a bit surprised as to how touristy it is but I suppose that's the way of things in America. If it's popular, market it. We return to the hotel and go swimming in the pool - a nice, relaxing end to the day. Distance driven 90 miles Thursday 13th ...
Key Largo, Florida, United States harryandnorah... front of us. It felt safe and we didn't move all night. Getting the hook up this morning was bit of an exercise. It was storming with lightning when we were leaving with gusts over 25kts, so we had to work at it. While the vessel has a windlass (a powered winch to raise/lower) it can't be used to pull the boat up to the anchor, plus there is a current. So there is quite a bit of back and fill trying to motor the vessel up to the anchor ...
Key Largo, Florida, United States gknoppBack in America and before we could catch our breath for five minutes in the air-conditioned airport we were headed south in search of what the Indians call the "River of Grass", we were on our way to the Everglades! Our trip to Florida City about an hour south of Miami gave us a fantastic indication of why we should abandon buses in America and rent a car... something we planned to do shortly. The bus was not particularly busy but it had the ...
