The strangest creature I witnessed was the imported "Japanese Obamanite" know for its odd behavior and strange coloring. I will let the picture speak for itself :)

... that if we ever were back in Anchorage in our lifetime this restaurant would be #1 on our list to revisit. Our day was drawing to a close, so we headed home to our temporary abode. We finally met our "landlady Jill" and she was very nice. She made a few suggestions of places to visit, and had left us brochures to help with our planning. ... like this, though, is getting to see, first hand, the sea life! We were especially pleased to get our first very close up experience with puffins. And I always thought puffins were either extinct or mythical, like the dodo or a low interest mortgage. The puffins were cool little birds to watch flying and diving around, with their waxy orange beaks. ... but I was still practicing regulated controlled breathing just to keep my body temperature below 110. One additional layer might have made the difference between vertical and horizontal. The 78 degree temperatures on the plane didn't help. I have to say that the ice on my drive way at home was merely basic training. We have not experienced ice of this caliber in Michigan. highlight of our trip, there many animals here to see in their natural
habitat (not like a zoo) and all the proceeds from the admission ticket
and gift shop purchases go to taking care of them. I even got to feed a
deer. My alaska trip was amazing and I look forward to the day that I
can revisit this beautiful state of wilderness.

... that passed by for my tent poles. Eventually, we were getting tired and cold, so we decided to eat lunch to boost our morale. There was a nearby pizza place to cheer us up and fill our stomachs. After lunch, we caught a bus to our hostel where we were able to dump our backpacks, unpack and freshen up. We went for a walk around town and caught a nice sunset at Elderberry Park.
