Friday 6 March, 4.27pm, Anchor Motel Well doesn't time fly when you're having fun. March continues apace, and I find myself in Noosa, a sweet little seaside town on the Sunshine Coast. Not so glam or sleek as the Gold Coast, Sunshine is more about the natural beauties of Fraser Island, Hervey Bay and Airlie Beach - although one thing they do have in common up here with their southern neighbours is a fanatic devotion to searching for the perfect wave. Surfers roam the whole east coast, getting...

... but missed out on a few of the main attractions. In the evening, I went to the pub with a Dutch guy to watch a boring 0-0 with Australia and Holland, and spent the final day walking along Sunshine beach and around the national park near the hostel, but it was a dreary day, so spent some of the remaining time on line and reading.
... the night. Five minutes later I receive a text saying they are finally in Noosa, great timing!
Ah well no great loss had a fantastic night here with Johanna & Natalie again as well as a cool German chick named Anna and an English bloke who's name I just cannot remember. We sat and drank lots of beer in the hostel then some of us went out to a local club called the Rolling Rock. It was hip hop & RnB and ...
... can buy anything from cuddly 'Steve dolls' to Steve Irwin tea towels! We were greeted at the gates of the zoo by a lovely little baby crocodile (eek!) We then made our way to the 'Crocoseum' to watch the live bird, elephant, snake and crocodile shows (not all at the same time thank god!) - it was a really cool show fun and the crocodile trainers were really ...
Noosa, Queensland, Australia kateandiani got home from work yesterday with the intention of delving back into my size-intesive graduate school search but instead, found myself drawn back outside by the alluring smells and sounds of late afternoon in queensland. it's about 5:30/6 when the sun begins to sink and the air grows cool, the birds gather for what seems like a sunset party, and the day finally breathes out in a sigh of relief. it has quickly become my ...
Bli Bli, Queensland, Australia katelin... re broke backpackers) and finally managed to send him on his way. Still clashing with our roommates, we decided to get out of our hostel and spent our last day in national park land. We walked down the beach (still jellyfish season so no swimming) and climbed up a steep hill into a national park track. We saw some nice views and teetered past a nudist beach along the way and got back just before sunset. Was woken by drunken roomies focusing fan ...
Noosa, Queensland, Australia marietherese... in the mundane chores of running the farm: feeding the goats, fencing, gathering eggs and chasing renegade geese back into the pen. Naturally, when the farm is a biodynamic one, there are additional chores: spreading tree paste (a mixture of clay, water and the all mighty cow dung) on the trunks of all fruit trees, planting very specific plats on the very specific hour of a very specific day, and digging around cow horn burial ...

Noosa, Australia vagabond-ing... not quite sure, raped his niece, with a samurai sword! Needless to say we declined his kind offer to spend the next day with him. Nice guy though! The last night i passed out after a few of us played drinking games with goon (a backpackers saviour - ridiculously cheap white wine with some some rough ingredients and some bad effects). The next morning we slept through alarms, had to rush to catch our coach, and had to spend the next 5 hours ...
Noosa, Australia michaeldh... he says unintentionally) used his skull to battering ram me in the kidney. Well done mate. So, after thoroughly exhausting ourselves in the surf, and feeling a bit beaten, we headed back home. Today the game plan was to head south, just past Brisbane, to Neil's lifelong friend Peter's 50th birthday bash. First we stopped near Brisbane to pick up Ray Duggan (whose wife is confusingly named Rae Duggan), another longtime friend of Neil and Jane ...
