Today is the day we finally left the wind tunnel called The Dalles. The Columbia Gorge was "gorgeous", but The Dalles was just too industrial, and because of the gorge, it was always windy threre. That might be great for windsurfing, but not so good for motorcycles. Unfortunately, the weather took a turn for the colder today, so in addition to the wind, we now had 60 degree temperatures. Weather was cool, but seasonable and pleasant, in the 50's and 60's with partly cloudy skies. It is worth noting there was no rain or fog, but there was wind. Oregon's coast is like Florida or YNP. Either time moves fast in these places or you move slower. It can take 2 hours to go 10 miles because you ...

Almost Nothing New from Newport

... bus with Dee Dee to the store.

After being crippled up with a sore back since we left Port Angeles Bob, Dee Dee and Rick finally convinced Patti to see a doctor. The problem was we had to wait until Monday when the Urgent Care, walk-in, first come-first served, medical clinic was open. The only transportation options were walking, a taxi or a bus. Walking was out due her back. A taxi would have been great but it turns out Newport runs a $1 bus!
