... had soba and grilled river trout and was treated to cookies by the super nice staff while I waited for the bus back to Oboke. Then There was a boat ride and a mega walk up a hill with creepy ghost statues, chatty oba sans that gave me candy and I even saw a tanuki! Then onsen at the hotel and back for a giant vegan dinner. Now that I am just getting my bearings and remembering more Japanese it is time to go. ...

We had thought that there would be 2 really big, deep whirlpools under the bridge, however it is actually more like lots of little whirlpools which all twist and turn into one another. ... my dirty, and oh so stinky, clothes in the tub. After my visit to the temple I strolled down to the beach where turtles come to lie their eggs.. But no turtles today.. What a shame. I have seen on das Internet that the sun will be absent a couple more days. No beach camping for me just yet then.. Also I think the aircon just died. It's going to be a long night!! If only I had a cold beer.. Oh wait, there's a vending machine in the hall way. Ha! Japan is great! Cheers! ...

... like hanging up my hat (or throwing off my bloody backpack more likely) that's my home.. Temples are cool. Great beautiful gardens to stroll in. The Japanese baths are class. And rooms lovely traditional. I'm in love with tatami floor. I hadn't had much to eat but the monk gave me some food for o-settai. Coffee and croissants. I wolfed it and fell asleep. At 7.30pm. Ha! The night owl - beaten at last! ;0) Ding!!! 4am. Wide awake. Blood pumping. The pain of the previous day ...
