One of the many things that Shikoku is famous for is the Ohenro walk – a pilgrimage travelling clockwise around the island, visiting 88 Buddhist temples that the famous monk Kobo Daishi visited in the 8th and 9th Centuries.

The pilgrimage is completed for various reasons, mostly ...

... part of the afternoon to walk the route. The weather held off for little old me, until the end. At temple 5 I bought what seemed like cheap oranges. Great I said to myself. At least until I tried one. They were very bitter, and it was a pain to eat them. (The locals like them though as I managed to give the bag to the owners of my hostel.). Naruto was ok if you're passing through it but we wouldn't recommend just heading there, so maybe a thumbs down. However, ritsurin park was beautiful and we would have liked to spend longer there so probably a thumbs up.
Next stop Kotohira and a ryokan ...

... quite used to covering quite a lot of ground on foot every day so I easily grow restless. I packed and back on route 55 I was. Above me circled many Hayabusa. Strong wings surfing strong winds. And together we steered the ship towards Cape Muroto-misaki. Volcano land. But that is a story for later on. I got sashimi in my fridge and a wine spritzer in the freezer. And then there's a pancake treat for little miss sweet tooth. It is after all Saturday night in Kochi ...
