... gorge run by a super nice guy and his vegan cooking wife. It was great hanging out with the other guests and getting to know the staff. I took a bus out to the famous bridge and I was lucky to get there before the crowds. It was cool, but then what? You really need a car to get yourself to a trailhead. I tried walking on the road, but the trucks made it no fun. So I found a cool restaurant hanging over the ...

... station in the middle of nowhere. The "town" had no shops and it only had the local outdoor vending machines as supplies. Having not eaten and knowing we had a further 2 hour train ride, we had to settle for a "calorie mate" bar which can only be described as a gone off Scottish shortbread biscuit without any sugar. First part was easy and I stayed in a temple all by myself. The monks held a ceremony just for me and I was served a delicious dinner. It was quite an experience. But the day after I had the nanshou temples awaiting me. And geez they were hard indeed. Winding roads up ...

... Usually a mirage is a water source in a desert. For me it was smokey noodle stands and carts with old ladies frying okonomiyaki (a pancake-like thing filled with cabbage and cheese or/and meat or tuna topped with BBQ sauce n mayo- it is heaven)! And suddenly - boom! A noodle house. A massive place with picture menus and as much free green tea you can drink. Whoop! Everyone turned their head when sweaty stinky wee me entered the facilities. But I cared not. I had both noodles ...
