    Great spot just down from the Disney Parks. Clean, good value hotel for families with nice small pool & spa for exhausted bodies after the theme parks and lots of walking!

    ... work, we managed to track it down and a 'quick' 3 hour round trip to the airport and all 3 passports were happily reunited. Long story, not worth repeating here, the 2 main points being it was customs' fault, not mine (of course!), and I never ever want to go thru that stress again!!

    Some interesting facts we learned today:

    A billboard in downtown LA costs $25,000 a month to lease and the big ones on the side of the building cost $95k.

    ... on some bargain business shirts in preparation for work in Australia. After a picnic lunch we headed out to Hollywood's Vine street on the metro. One thing we have noticed about LA is that there is an unusually high number of crazy and/or homeless people on or around the subway. Today we saw a guy try to set his pet dog on fire while it was sitting on his lap in the metro car! Our in Hollywood to crazy ...
