... hotel guests. Reminds me a bit of that long-neglected hit by Reparata and the Delrons, "Saturday Night Didn't Happen."

Tomorrow is my big hike--I am taking the train to Arita and walking to Hasami, which should be about an hour's walk, maybe longer. Thanks to computer mapping, I have a good map of the route, including the locations of convenience stores along the way. Hasami is a town where there's a company, Hakusan, that makes ...
Saga, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan rbfromnj... The best I ever had. We really enjoyed “people watching,” as you can tell from our latest photos.

I also wanted to remind everyone that we are able retrieve our regular emails, just like we were at home—just in case anyone wants to drop us a line. More to follow about Nagasaki.

Nagasaki, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan cubnelaineArriving in Nagasaki, another A-bomb town, we were yet again surprised to find a bustling town, smaller than Hiroshima but with its own charm- after checking into our hotel we headed along the seafront and managed to find a great bar/restaurant area called Dejima wharf that even had its own version of St Andrew's Jigger Inn! (Apparently the owner is a big golf fan along with the rest of Japan). We grabbed a few glorious drinks by the water as the sun ...
Nagasaki, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan ditzyaliDay 12 – Nagasaki

Some may say I was on a bomb tour heading to Nagasaki the second (following Hiroshima) city to be bombed by an atomic bomb. Similar to Hiroshima the main area had a peace park and museum. I did the walk around the park and visited the museum which had a few different exhibits to Hiroshima but on the whole fairly similar. For lunch that day on my walk around the place I saw this restaurant that looked relatively interesting and quite ...

nagasaki, Japan ratuLast time I have written was when we just arrived in Hiroshima. In Hiroshima we visited the Miyajumi island where the floating temple is except that when we arrived it was low tide and the temple was not floating but we could actually quite comfortably walk to it. But such a nice island with some wild deer and if I came again would definitely be nice to stay on the island for a night. We also visited the Hiroshima A-bomb memorial park which was quite sad ...
Sasebo, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan jennisalmela... in front of us were vacant, so Veronica and Charlotte sat in them until such time as someone got on with those seats reserved. Luckily for the entire trip, nobody did, so we each had a seat. The conductor looked a little flustered when he checked our tickets, but he let us stay there. He did point out that Veronica and Charlotte were in the wrong seats, so I'm guessing that was his way of telling us to move if someone got on with those seats reserved. No problem ...
