    Capítulo 27- Feliz Navidad

    In the United States, many Jewish people have their own traditions on Christmas day, that do not include the typical traditions. For example, my family has previously ordered Chinese food on Christmas day and gone to the movie theaters. I always wondered though what it was like to celebrate Christmas with a family that celebrates the holiday, and this past Christmas I had that opportunity with my friend Simon's family in Germany!

    ... of the fun if you accept it. Anyway we just cross the road and are in the station in no time, check times and sit with a coffee, Frankfurt main is a big rail station and today is busy. Anyway I needed to go and get a sim sorted so I have Internet, can't travel like this without it, bookings changes etc all need it. The little phone shop ended up sorting a sim for my Ipad, too long to explain the fun with sims, suffice to say ...

    --Another "no one does it" in Europe factoid. Nobody wears baseball caps in Europe. Or hats of any kind. The only baseball cap I ever saw was the one I was wearing. Again, you'd find a half dozen baseball caps in any diner in America outside New York, San Francisco, ...

    ... the Zeilgalerie, which doesn't have typical levels, but a ramp that runs around the perimeter meaning you can walk all the way from the top to the bottom without climbing any stairs. Thankfully we didn't buy any balloons because they weren't allowed up on the observation platform, but there were a few rebels in the crowd.

    ... Coming home I went via Heathrow as the flight was more than an hour earlier than the City Airport flight. It only gets me home half an hour earlier but it's still worth it.

    I've now lost my silver card so I can't use the lounge, but the bar by gate 4 is perfectly reasonable for a 30 minute stop. The Heathrow flights do use a jetty and we were quickly on board and away a bit early. The A320 was not full and I had two ...
