I remember reading The Diary of Anne Frank in middle school. My middle school is in a historically Jewish suburb, and so we had a school shut down for about 2 weeks where we discussed and researched the holocaust intensively. Weird how life will sometimes send you into a wormhole to re-examine things you learned or experienced in your past... I feel a bit transported. I had one of the best times ever in Amsterdam this weekend. Like seriously, it was amazing. From the time I got on the train and learned french from a 2 year old (as you probably read on the last post, but who am I kidding, does anyone read this?) to the time I got on the train to Paris Nord from Amsterdam Centraal, it was awesome.

... went on a bike ride, finding all of the new and interesting pieces of architecture that we could. Another day we went to a building that was created by a firm called MRDV. It was the WoZoCo housing unit and it’s really a beautiful building. Kiah and I had done a presentation on the very same building not a year earlier. We each new most of what there was to know about it and to see it in person was unreal. One day we went to a foreign film theater and saw a ...

    Day 19 - Heemskerk/Haarlem

A travel blog entry by tiannarae on Sep 21, 2014

Today we have no plans. We slept late, are our croissants and coffee and laid on the couch. There's a huge IKEA in Haarlem that we pass on our way to Amsterdam. We figured we would go check it out and I could look at the H&M in Haarlem. We went to H&M first and I bought a new tshirt, strip shirt, jeans and a jean top. Going to have to throw some old clothes out. ...
