... with koffie and sukerbollen, a typical Frisian (translation: calorically dense) dessert -- consisting of the usual suspect ingredients including sugar, white flour and lots of butter !
After getting nearly blown off the dike at Hindeloopen ( ancestral town of part of my mother's side, the Hinlopen's) we raced home, determined to get to Amsterdam for an open-air viewing of the Dutch-Argentina World Cup semi-final........

We bought our treats, tasted some amazing samples of fresh mango (so sweet!) and cheese (so stinky!), then rode our bikes back home.
