    ... 50 each, and got some Chinese. Wow what a mission to get to the park!! So hot too.. We were glad to find some grass, lay down and have a drink and some food. Heading back to hotel was even worse unfortunately first time got on wrong tram prob because to tired to think clearly lol.     ... structures were taxed based on width. At the top of each house, under the gable, is a very large hook. We learned that the hooks are used to lower furniture below when the occupants move. There is no way furniture can be transported down the narrow staircases of these houses (and we think moving is a pain in the States!).     ... on a busy canal off of the famous Prinsengracht canal, in a very quaint but quiet part of Amsterdam. We've been here for an hour or so now and I bet a boat of some sort (canoe, row, motor, sightseeing, etc) has gone by every 10 minutes or so. We have a little patio off the back on the canal side and I can picture us sitting there with a beer or glass of wine, waving at people who cruise by.     ... br> Boxes packed and on the bike then head in for breakfast. This was a massive hotel but judging that it was only myself in this big diner it sure seemed rather empty.

    The room I had was wonderful and consisted of lounge, bedroom & bathroom. It was small and with the curtains pulled was one of the darkest hotel rooms I have ever slept in.
