      ... my knees but the views are worth it! So today was a local specialty breakfast - pancakes. The guys had bacon and bacon and apple pancakes. I went for a spinach, mushroom, ham and Gorgonzola pancake. I had asked for omelette but I got a pancake... They obviously found the same lol.       ... over here is that you need to pay to pee. 30euromcents about 45 Australian cents. Apparently throughout Europe this is the case. At times it may cost up to 1Euro. $1.50 Aus.       ... so we decided not to go in. Instead, we found a busy little corner with café’s and pubs so we stopped in for a coffee and dessert. The name of the place we stopped at was called 'Villa Zeezicht’ and made the BEST (and I am not exaggerating) apple pie. I cannot even put into words how delicious this was. I recommend this place for apple pie if anyone is visiting Amsterdam.

      ... last night, I heard the news of the Malaysian Airlines plane being shot down over Ukraine. That plane left Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport less than two hours before I did, so I undoubtably crossed paths with some of the victims at the airport, albeit unknowingly.       ... 4 hours to Newcastle where we got on a big Ferry. We parked the car on the bottom of the boat and we had a nice suite as it was an overnight ferry to Amsterdam. It was cool, i have never been on the open water like that before so it was a new experience for me. I think it is cool that these large boats have clubs, casino's, like 8 bars, 5 restaurants and a couple stores. Chris and I decided to get our drink on and go to the casino.
