Sunny Beach Nessebar, Burgas, Bulgaria
Wow.
One month to go. I am still in Bulgaria. Decisions when you travel somehow always turn out to be magical and predict the best experiences in life on the road. After spending a few 'extra' days in Varna with my new friends from Belfast I took a few days off to head North to Veliki Tarnovo. Simply choosing to jump on that bus brought me here. I met an American fella who is also traveling alone . . When my morning ...
... osim sto sam usavrsio bugarski jezik. Posla nema, samim tim nema ni para. Ok, onda sam odlucio da iskoristim slobodno vreme... Izlasci, upoznavanje... nesto sto nikada ne moze da dosadi. Plaza, more, Sunce i zabava. Odlican nacin da se iskoristi slobodno vreme.
Napokon da se zavrsilo ovo leto. Postalo je malo monotono...
Do sledeceg putovanja...
Dovijdene na v sichki.
... Palace. Nessebar as well as being picturesque is Souvenir Central with a variety of shops and cafes lining the pretty streets. It is located on a small rocky isthmus in the Black Sea , is a UNESCO World Heritage site and dates back to 3000 BC. We love it here and spent the afternoon wandering about enjoying the town. Later we had dinner on our balcony, accompanied by Bulgarian Beer and Bulgarian Wine, and then went for a walk along the waterside in the cool of the evening.
Nessebar, Burgas, Bulgaria souter... signs; this town has accomodation. Much later I went into a large park with trees and shady promenades; someone cared about this place. Its great and there are lots of people about. I follow it towards town and come across a tower block with Hotel on top. that's how i like my hotels. At first they say all they have is a luxury suite the other lady points out singles. Its 50 levs with breakfast; I decide to look around for other hotels to be sure. So ...
Burgas, Bulgaria i_could_walk... To reach Nessebar I took the small ferry that runs from Sunny Beach. It was cold and very windy day and the sea was really choppy for the short crossing over to Nessebar but was fun nonetheless. After disembarking the ferry you are immediatley faced with ruins of the old city walls, a favourite with tourists. Walking through the town is like being in a Swiss Alpine village with lots of small cobbled ...
Nessebar, Burgas, Bulgaria gfleming... made it back about 5 mins before Greg. Out and about by early arvo to find some lunch and then hit the beach. Unfortunately it was cloudy and windy and after braving it for an hour I actually got too cold and we headed for home. With all the falls festival stuff to organise we headed out with the lap top to find some good unsecured connection but ended up walking for over an hour all the way up into the new town to the hotels. Greg found out he ...
Sozopol, Bulgaria leahandgregBurgas was hosting the first ever MTV Spirit of Burgas festival with Groove Armada, Koseen, Ministry of Sound etc. It was situated on the beach, had an electric atmosphere, great music and was bouncing! All for £20 as well. If you happen to see the festival on MTV you will probably see me & G. Aside from the festival there is nothing happening in Burgas.
Burgas, Burgas, Bulgaria stevewadeSunny Beach is a holiday resort on the coast of Bulgaria. It's basically sunbathe all day and booze all night. Lots of British, Sweedish, Norwegian, Dutch and German tourists. Not the nicest place in the world but good for a chill out and a few nights on the lash.
Sunny Beach, Bulgaria stevewadeBurgas to Malko Tarnovo (95km) Best bit: Huge national park (1200km of it) Worst bit: hot! Looking at my map I had two choices on how to reach the Turkish border today (a) via a big red road (b) via small windy village backroads Red roads in Bulgaria are invariably mini motorways. The associated terror levels with these (for a self-confessed softie like myself) are much like a ride at Alton Towers with no safety belts. The ...
Burgas, Burgas, Bulgaria springy100Velki Preslav to Burgas Distance 162km Best bit: sun Worst bit: having to throw myself into the gutter 5 times today to avoid oncoming traffic!! Well, the Black Sea isnt black. Its kind of a rich blue with gentle waves. The sand feels good under my feet :)
