Paros island Paros, Cyclades, Greece
... close to the marina that has music coming from it. I ate a lamb dish for dinner and since the Greeks eat dinner very late in the day and will frequently make an evening of it, it wasn't until close to 11 PM that we left the taverna.
I went back to the yacht to dress in my club clothes and to go to one of the few dance clubs that remained open over the winter. Although it wasn’t packed, the club was still a lot of fun and we had a great time.
It’s a little cool outside for a party island that is famous for its nude beaches and all-night dance clubs. This is the first time that I wished we were visiting Greece during the tourist season since the town almost feels empty and the beaches deserted.

... were white! The sky was clear blue! Vendors were yelling! The smells of slouvaki were everywhere! It felt like we were at our Summer Fair!
We walked around the port and did some browsing in the store front shops and street market, occasionally being enticed to view local Greek Nike t-shirts! Being seasoned shoppers, we avoided eye contact and only took interest in an item if we were truly ...
... while went down to the beach where we were happy to discover sand, but ended up having to put a chair up to block the wind. Even then we didn’t get quite hot enough for a swim so we waded in waist deep and then got back out.
That night we made pasta and ate it on the balcony overlooking the sun as it sank slowly behind the mountains. The rim of the mountains seemed to ...
Arrived in Paros around 12:00 after catching the 07:25 from Athens. Very barren island which reminded me a lot of my childhood town of Karratha - red dirt, rocks, scrub and little else. We were staying up near the fishing village of Nouria*, some 8km from the port town, so were met at the ferry by someone from Hotel Captain Duomo* where we were staying. Gorgeous place offering self contained apartment type ...
Paros, Cyclades, Greece oliveramber... However if you're lucky I might get my magic hands to whip you up a sample some day. There was a BBQ area in the campsite and most people staying in the early days were always in there playing cards and what not. These were my target audience. For one of our promotions we came up with the idea of everybody getting a welcome shot on entry into the bar. I'd whip up a batch of kamakazi every night, made from vodka, triple sec and lemon juice, especially for this purpose but it didn't make ...
Paros, Cyclades, Greece talamarko... I ordered some drinks. I was breathing heavy and my heartbeat was racing. As I waited for the drinks to come I took a few deep breaths to try and calm myself down but my whole body was tingling. Watching her walk towards me on her return I couldn't help but think how lucky I was. This thought was ingrained in my mind as she took my hand again and led me to a table outside. As we passed through the packed bar the faces of all the men would be watching her pass ...
Paros, Cyclades, Greece talamarko... weren't running because the water was too rough so I ended up having a nice walk of 5k or so each way. I needed the exercise since lounging on a beach reading day after day doesn't burn many calories. It's been almost 6 weeks since I've seen a gym too although I'm not complaining. I did manage to swim a little bit today although both pair of goggles continued to leak (I'm thinking now maybe my face is the problem). I'm glad I decided to extend my stay on Paros ...

How on Earth did I get to be so lucky?
My family and I went on a cruise of the Greek Islands. We ate a lot, got sea sick once, soaked up the sun, and absorbed the classically beautiful white and blue colours on the islands. There weren't very much ship activities that my sister and I were interested in but Allyson and I did win a bingo game! Mykonos was by far our favorite island because of its beauty.
