We eventually made it back to the baggage hold and we embarked on our first ever vaporetta ride. Vaporettas are a form of public transport in Venice. They are boats that travel around all the islands. It is just like a train in Melbourne but better because a) they are less crowded and b) because you can take in the fresh harbour air.
