Athens! It was a "must do". When we first started looking at possible itineraries, Athens needed to be a part of it, and we studied architecture and mythology to get ready for it. This was another port where we didn't like the tours offered, so we figured out what we wanted to do, learned from those who visited Athens before us, and struck out on our own. ... big they are. It is very hot and very dusty...but these things have been there since 449BC. Just incredible to wander round, gaze up....and try to take a good photo. There were bits of marble lying everywhere....evidence to how big this structure must have been. Continued on the bus....then back to the hotel for several swims. Came up with a great idea for getting my washing dry. Would go up to the pool in one wet t-shirt and shorts....have a swim....they'd be dry... Go back to ...
